One of my favorite preachers was the late J.T. Pugh. Here he preaches a sermon entitled "The Potter's Vessel" (audio). Below is a brief (incomplete) biography of the preacher posted by the YouTube channel The Faith Once Delivered under the description section of the message posted above:

At the Potter's House - This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD: “Go down to the potter's house, and there I will give you my words. Then I went down to the potter's house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels. And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it. Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying,O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the Lord. Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel." (Jeremiah 18:1-6) Sermon by Pugh (1923-2010).
At the age of 16 J.T. Pugh began to feel his call into the ministry. At the age of 17, he enrolled in "Southern Bible and Vocational College". This was a good school located in a rural community miles from Cisco, Texas. During three of the four years that he attended college, J.T. pastored a church in Gorman, Texas.
In the winter of 1943 he was ordained as a minister of "The Pentecostal Assemblies of Jesus Christ." He did not fill out an application for license. He did not meet the District Board. R.L. Blankenship, Superintendent of the PA of JC, Texas District just decided that he should be ordained during a district meeting. His first license was signed by W.T. Witherspoon and S.R. Hanby.
On August 20, 1944, J.T. married a beautiful, dedicated, young lady. Bessie Beryl Halbrooks has been the greatest event of his life, besides Jesus Christ. She was the first and only girl he ever dated. There were three children born to this union. After graduating from Bible School, the Pugh's travelled as evangelist sfor a short time. They did not own a car and knew that there was little likelihood that they would ever own one. They did not have the money to buy her bus ticket to their own revival after they were married. J.T. had to leave her at the bus station in tears. In 1945, they were called to pastor in Wichita Falls, Texas. From 1946 to 1948, they evangelized. During this time they purchased a car.
In 1949, at the age of 27, the Pugh's moved to Port Arthur, Texas to pastor "The First Pentecostal." They lived and ministered there for 17 years. In 1974 the Pugh's moved to Odessa, Texas to pastor "The First Pentecostal Church." For 19 years they enjoyed revival and growth. During that time Bro. Pugh served eight years as the Texas District Superintendent.

I have always had a high regard for Bro. Pugh's preaching and depth since the first time I heard him preach. Then I met the man and all that regard increased. In fact, as a young man, I would often say that I could gauge a young minister's depth and maturity by what they thought, or said, about Bro. Pugh. Perhaps that was wrong of me, but I must admit that I still think this way.

He Took the
Law in His Own Hands

A friend of mine is in the hospital tonight. He's suffered some severe injuries in an horrific automobile accident. I have been praying for him and trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ to heal and restore this husband, father of two boys, chaplain, and Bible scholar.
While thinking and praying for James, I was reminded of a sermon we shared with one another that one of us discovered. To be honest, I don't remember now who found this sermon, so, I'm giving him the credit and posting it here.
Historically, it is an interesting sermon for apostolics to read. Doctrinally, it is a unique message for oneness pentecostals to consider (although it is problematic).
Please, pray for James Anderson when you read this post. He lives in Mt. Vernon, TX, and he is in need of a miracle.

Besides admiring Tom Fred Tenney (T. F. Tenney) as a Christian, leader, writer, teacher, and a great preacher of the Gospel, I, along with many others, appreciate the way he uses quips and well-turned phrases to convey a truth. So, I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered the following gem on the Internet.
In 2011 the Assemblies of the Lord Jesus Christ, which is a great Oneness Pentecostal/Apostolic organization, held a conference entitled: "Let's Talk," and T. F. Tenney was one of the main speakers.
Since I like collecting interesting quotes and words of wisdom, this presentation is a treasure trove for me, and the following quotes are things he said during that message. While some of these nuggets might not be original with him, keep in mind that we're interested in the way he uses these phrases to present some expert advice about ministry, relationship, marriage, and the church:

"Dimensional Awareness" is a powerful message preached by Pastor Nathaniel Urshan (The Rock Church - Ft. Myers, FL) on Friday, November 9, 2012, at the Mantle 2012 Conference in Franklin, IN.
I was back at my grandmother's house recently and took more pictures of pamphlets written by these writers. Some are written by authors that still live, but many of the authors have passed on to their eternal reward.
I read recently that if you want to change your generation you need to preach, but if you want to change future generations then write. I'm thankful these authors wrote these pamphlets.
Due to his sin, Man was cast out of the Garden of Eden and since that day has searched for "The Road Back to the Garden." Jesus Christ is the culmination of that journey.
I was thinking of N. A. Urshan today and the times I heard him preach (and sing with his wife) at my home church - Zion Tabernacle (Kokomo, IN) - so many years ago now that it seems life a lifetime ago. Then I went on YouTube and found this clip from the 1991 Because of the Times conference in Alexandria, LA.
Here's a great song and a great moment of insight in the middle of the clip by a stalwart champion of the faith.
I'm so glad, so glad, I was raised in the home of godly parents who are Christians. I'm also glad I was raised in and Oneness Pentecostal movement (we are a movement, not a denomination), and that I know what it means to be Apostolic, but I'm at the place now where I'm simply wanting to conform, not to the image and practices of the Apostles, but to the image of Jesus Christ.
I want to be like Jesus and part of that process involves the Savior reaching way down for me, forgiving me, paying for my debt of sin through the power of His name in baptism, filling me with His Holy Spirit, and making me a son of God.
